Boxing-Fighting midwife hangs up her gloves (Reuters)

TOKYO, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Japanese boxing midwife NaomiTogashi, a former women's world flyweight champion, announcedher retirement from the sport on Monday. "Ten years ago I began boxing as an amateur," the37-year-old told reporters after deciding to focus solely ondelivering babies. "I have continued working and training and I have noregrets." Togashi turned professional in 2007, two years beforewomen's boxing was even recognised in Japan, and won the WorldBoxing Council's flyweight crown the following year. ...
