Doping trial should not penalize Madrid bid: Blanco (Reuters)

MADRID (Reuters) - The "Operation Puerto" trial into a doping ring in professional cycling has been "a mistake and a disaster" for Spanish sport but Madrid's bid for the 2020 Olympics should not be penalized as a result, according to bid chief Alejandro Blanco. Spanish doctor Eufemiano Fuentes, the central figure in the trial, was given a one-year prison term for endangering public health on Tuesday. ...
